Krishna R. Reddy
Krishna R. Reddy is a University Scholar, Distinguished Researcher, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Director of Sustainable Engineering Research Laboratory and Geotechnical & Geoenvironmental Engineering Laboratory at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), USA. His expertise includes environmental site remediation, waste containment and landfill engineering, beneficial use of waste and recycled materials, AI/ML/DL application, and sustainability and resiliency assessment frameworks. Dr. Reddy has authored four influential books (including Geoenvironmental Engineering and Sustainable and Resilient Engineering), more than 340 journal papers, and numerous edited volumes, book chapters, and conference papers. He has received numerous prestigious honors and awards, including Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award, ISSMGE Kerry Rowe Honor Lecturer, Purdue G.A. Leonards Lecturer, ASCE Wesley W. Horner Award, and ASTM Hogentogler Award.

Claudio Cameselle
Prof. Claudio Cameselle is a Full Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Vigo, Spain, where he has built a distinguished career spanning teaching, research, and academic leadership since 1995. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Santiago de Compostela (1995), where his doctoral research pioneered the biobleaching of kaolins. He served as coordinator of the Master’s Program in Industrial Pollution: Assessment, Prevention and Control (2012–2017). His research sits at the intersection of environmental engineering and sustainable technology, with expertise in electrochemical and photochemical treatment processes, soil remediation, wastewater treatment, and waste valorization. His scholarly output reflects both the depth and reach of his work: more than 100 peer-reviewed research articles, numerous book chapters, and two books on soil remediation and sustainable engineering. An active researcher and dedicated educator, he continues to advance sustainable environmental technologies at the University of Vigo, collaborating with scientists worldwide in pursuit of cleaner, greener engineering solutions.

Ana Vieira
Senior Researcher in the Geotechnics Department of LNEC (since 2023). PhD in Civil Engineering (Geotechnics and Foundations), Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Coimbra (2007). Participation in and coordination of research projects at LNEC and externally funded projects. Participation in and coordination of contract research studies and specialized technical consulting. Vice-President of Geo-RIN (Geothermal Research and Innovation Network for Portugal and Spain), since 2025. Secretary-General of the Portuguese Committee of Environmental Geotechnics, since 2024. President of the Portuguese Committee of Environmental Geotechnics from 2020 to 2024. Co-editor of the journal Soils and Rocks, since 2021. Secretary-General of the Portuguese Geotechnical Society from 2016 to 2020. Guest Lecturer at the Departments of Civil Engineering and Earth Sciences, Faculty of Sciences and Technology, Nova University of Lisbon (2010–2014). Recipient of the “SPG Recognition” distinction (2025). Awarded the Manuel Rocha Prize of the Portuguese Geotechnical Society for the PhD thesis (quadrennium 2004–2007) (2008).

Borja Badenes
Borja Badenes is Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at the School of Industrial Engineering, Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain). His work focuses on shallow geothermal systems and sustainable energy technologies, with particular expertise in borehole heat exchangers (BHEs), heat transfer mechanisms between the ground and the exchanger, thermal response testing, advanced materials, and geothermal system design and optimization. He combines research, teaching, and industry experience, and has contributed to several European projects and scientific publications on geothermal energy and ground source heat pump systems. His work integrates modelling, experimentation, and engineering practice to improve geothermal system design and performance.

Castorina Silva Vieira
Castorina Silva Vieira is Associate Professor (with Habilitation) at the Civil Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), Portugal, Director of the Construction Materials Laboratory at FEUP and Executive Vice-President of the Board of the “Institute for Sustainable Construction – ICS”; Member of the Board of Directors of “IET – Instituto Empresarial do Tâmega”, representing the University of Porto, since 2025. Integrated Member of the research unit CONSTRUCT – Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction. Deputy Secretary of the Portuguese Geotechnical Society from 2020 to 2024. Vice-President of the Portuguese Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS) from 2021 to 2024. Member of several Technical Committees and Associate Editor of several journals. Currently her major research interests are “Circular Economy in Built Environment”, “Sustainability in Geotechnical Engineering”, “Soil/geosynthetic interaction”, “Geosynthetic reinforced systems” and “Valorization of recycled aggregates and industrial by-products as construction material”. She is author/co-author of several scientific papers published in International Journals and Conference Proceedings.

Arul Arulrajah
Professor Arul Arulrajah leads the Geotechnical Engineering group at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. He is involved in geotechnical engineering research topics which include sustainable geotechnics, recycled waste materials, ground improvement, pavement geotechnics, railway geotechnics, land reclamation and dredging. He has extensive experience in geotechnical engineering design, site implementation and project management of numerous large civil engineering infrastructure projects, based on his 14 years of industry experience prior to joining Swinburne in 2006. He is the author of 1 book, 5 book chapters, 400+ journal publications and 100+ conference publications to date, and his research has been recognized by several international and Australian awards. He is the recipient of 6 Swinburne University Vice Chancellor/Researcher Awards and 7 best international conference paper awards. He has been involved as a Chief Investigator in 43 research projects. He was the Deputy Training Centre Director and Technical Program Coordinator for the ARC Training Centre for Advanced Technologies in Rail Track Infrastructure from 2018 to 2021.
